Reliable energy security.

Esperance is a farm located between Worcester and Robertson in the Overhex, specialising in table grapes and almonds, and offering a cozy guesthouse. When Esperance approached 2Zero50, they had two main objectives in mind: reducing electricity costs and ensuring a reliable power supply during frequent outages. The latter concern was especially pressing, not just due to loadshedding, but also because of regular disruptions caused by outdated Eskom infrastructure.

To address their needs, we implemented a solution that involved deactivating two of their 50kVA Eskom connections, leaving them with a single 100kVA point. We then installed a 150kW inverter, supported by a 200kW battery system and 150kW of solar panels. This setup ensures water security during the peak summer months, critical for their grape and almond harvests, while also keeping their packhouse operational through any power interruption. Additionally, the system provides added energy security for their guesthouse. In the winter, Esperance will feed excess electricity back into the Eskom grid, effectively storing energy for use during the summer.

Esperance is extremely satisfied with the solution, enjoying the peace of mind that comes with reliable energy security for their farm.
